The route to Großvenediger through the little ice fields and further up before one disappears behind the sun-lit horizon. On the left you can see "Hoher Zaun, then "Schwarze Wand" and just behind, Rainerhorn" a little which is the highest in this view (3559 m), on the right the ridge that leads to "Kleinvenediger". The picture is taken close by the hut where we stayed over night, called "Neue Prager Hütte".
I was applying some luminosity masks as Tony Kuyper suggests them. I use them both to select the highlights and darks for blending purposes and also to add more contrast and saturation to areas that can handle it while leaving out areas that are either too bright or too dark. I have to admit, I have trouble to see what I want to apply to what selection and above all to find the proper selection for blending and not end up with a mess of gray.
I worked on this for a long time, and am not so sure about it yet. I used three different exposures from one RAW file, one of them duplicated three times to take care of the dark and middle tones by applying different selections.
Do you feel it is over all a believable image?
